Hashali Veronica, recently crowned Miss Planet Namibia 2025, is more than just a beauty queen she is a powerful voice for young Namibian women and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment. Hashali credits her upbringing with shaping her into the confident, grounded woman she is today. “My parents always reminded me that confidence is not about being the loudest in the room, but about being sure of who you are,” she says. “Their encouragement helped me believe in myself, even when things got tough.”
Hashali’s journey into the world of pageantry began at just five years old, when she participated in local competitions in her neighbourhood. “From that very first moment on stage, I fell in love with the feeling of expressing myself, connecting with people, and embracing confidence,” she reflects. Over the years, modelling and pageantry became more than a personal passion they became a platform to empower others. “What truly drew me to pageantry was not just the beauty or the crown, but the platform it provides to inspire others, especially young girls like the little girl I once was.”
Her coronation as Miss Planet Namibia 2025 was a defining moment. “The moment I was crowned felt like a dream come true. I was overwhelmed with emotion grateful, proud, and humbled all at once,” Hashali shares. “I knew from that moment forward, I had a responsibility to be a voice for positive change.”

Reflecting on Namibia’s modelling scene, Hashali acknowledges both progress and persistent challenges. “The scene in Namibia has grown in talent and passion, but one of the biggest issues is the lack of support, especially when it comes to pageantry. Many times, young women with potential are forced to give up because there’s little to no sponsorship for international competitions,” she explains. She also speaks candidly about facing harsh criticism and body shaming: “People often expect perfection and are quick to tear you down when you don’t fit their standards.”
For Hashali, representing Namibian beauty and culture is a profound honour. “It fills me with pride to showcase the richness of our traditions, the strength of our women, and the uniqueness of our identity,” she says passionately. “It’s more than just wearing a sash or a crown; it’s about being a true ambassador of who we are as a people.”

Her personal style is as intentional as her purpose. “I would describe my personal style as elegant, bold, and authentic,” she says. “What you wear should tell your story before you even speak.” She draws inspiration from powerful women, African beauty, and her own roots, using fashion as a tool for storytelling.
Hashali also sees fashion as a means to elevate Namibia’s creative talent. She praises designers like Roberto Scholz, who “blend modern elegance with African sophistication,” but emphasises the need for more recognition and investment in Namibia’s fashion industry. “Our country is full of talent, creativity, and cultural richness, yet we are often overlooked on global platforms,” she notes.
Preparing for a runway show or photoshoot is a ritual of discipline and self-care for Hashali. “I always start by making sure I’m well-rested and hydrated, because energy and focus are key,” she explains. “Mentally, I take a few moments to centre myself whether it’s through deep breathing or positive affirmations.”

To young Namibian girls aspiring to model, Hashali offers heartfelt advice: “Start where you are, with what you have, and never let anyone define your worth. Stay true to yourself and your passion. Remember that beauty is not just about appearance it’s about how you treat others, how you carry yourself, and how you represent your roots.”
